LOCALISM is all of the connections and relationships we have made since beginning our wine careers in Napa Valley. In 2008, we uprooted ourselves from previous careers to embark on this journey. Having started from scratch, we are forging our way by utilizing our local network of friends & colleagues. The Localism brand has taken shape by continuously evolving with each year that passes, and reflects the lifestyle we set out to achieve when beginning our journey. The LOCALISM culture encompasses all of the people we know that continue to help to make this brand grow organically.
— Nicole & Ryan Knoth

Nicole Knoth | Proprietor/General Manager

Nicole is currently focusing her efforts on LOCALISM after recently leaving her position as Hospitality & Events Manager for Spottswoode Winery. In 2007, after a life-changing visit to Paso Robles wine country, Nicole decided she could apply her background in Marketing to the wine industry. Less than two years later she was offered a job at Clos Du Val Winery doing just that. Partnering with Ryan to create their own wine venture is truly the realization of why they began this journey to begin with. For Nicole, LOCALISM means freedom, inspiration and making sure you love what you do in life.

Ryan Knoth | Proprietor/Winemaker

Ryan is currently Winemaker at Sinegal Estate Winery in St. Helena. Since beginning his wine career, Ryan has worked with industry veterans David Abreu, Michel Rolland, and Fredrik Johansson at Staglin Family Vineyard, Jim Barbour & Philippe Melka at Gandona Winery and Tony Biagi at Sinegal. He has gained an incredible amount of experience in a short time working alongside these top winemakers and vineyard managers. For Ryan, LOCALISM is the means to express all that winemaking embodies: the land, the climate, the art, the philosophy and the community that composes and surrounds it.
